{{stub}} {{update}} {{cleanup}} Sound samples can be replaced with [[wav]] files. The supported formats are 8-bit and 16-bit mono PCM with no compression. The **Sfx** [[resource_category]] directory is searched using the lump names of the original samples. For example, to replace [[j_doom]]'s rocket launcher sound, the file **dsrlaunc.wav** would be placed in the **Data/jDoom/Sfx/** directory. Another way to specify an [[external_resource_file]] is to use the [[sound]] definition "Ext" key. [[doomsday]] will automatically detect the format of a sample if it's loaded from a [[wad]] file, making it possible to compile a [[wad]] out of [[wav]] samples.
